Website Vs Funnel

Website Vs Funnel

Funnels have become so popular nowadays that there’s actually been thoughts about abandoning your website.

So there’s no wonder why there’s so much push and pull when it comes to a website vs funnel.

  • Which one do you need?
  • And most importantly how beneficial are they?

Be sure to keep on reading to find out.

Website Vs Funnel

Depending on your goals you can actually get away with only using one of them.

However.

You’d be missing out on many of the benefits that come from the other side.

So let’s dive in and take a look at just how powerful each of these tools are, then you can make a great assessment on which would be best for you.

The Wonderful Website

First let’s take a look at how much you’d expect to invest when it comes to a website:

  • A domain name which is around $10 a year.
  • Then you have hosting which can be about $70 a year.

That’s pretty much all you need when it comes to getting a website up and running.

However.

There’s always going to be more tools you’ll need as you begin to grow:

  • Themes and plugins (which can be a very wide variety of prices).
  • An email marketing platform (about $20-$20 per month starting off).
  • And don’t forget about the ability to capture emails or create landing pages.

So when you’re deciding on a website vs funnel it’s important to keep in mind the costs.

Now let’s move onto why they are so powerful.

Website Pros

There’s quite a few big benefits when it comes to websites.

Here two of my favorites.

Building Authority

Nothing allows you to stand out as an expert more than publishing content on your specific topic.

This is probably one of the best ways for your audience to get to:

  • Know, like, and trust you.

And you can’t forget about of one of the single BEST benefits of a website.

SEO Traffic

Websites (especially WordPress blogs) have been getting organic traffic for years now.

In fact.

Many businesses make their living off of getting organic traffic from the search engines.

While some sales funnel builders allow you to slightly optimize your content for the search engines, they just can’t compete with a good old fashioned website.

Website Cons

There’s always going to be pros along with cons, but when it comes to a website?

There’s only one really big disadvantage (that I have seen in my years online).

Too Many Choices

There’s a really great quote I like which states…

A confused mind always says no.

And that can be a pretty big problem for websites especially if they are trying to make a sale.

Think about for a second.

There’s many distractions when it comes to websites:

  • Adsense ads retargeting you.
  • All of the drop down menus at the top of the page.
  • Sticky sidebar widgets on the side of the page following you.
  • And you can’t forget about all of the content being consumed on the page.

It’s going to be much more difficult to make a sale with so many distractions going on.

But there’s always a way to make it work, right?

Now let’s take a look at the other side of the website vs funnel battle.

The Fantastic Funnel

Just like we did when it comes to a website, let’s take a look at how much you’d be looking to invest:

And you can actually get away with just using those two things because sales funnels usually follow the trend of being able to build your online business with just one tool.

Sales Funnel Pros

Let’s look at why the sales funnel can be so powerful.

All In One Business

As stated above it’s convenient to be able to get everything you need to build your online business.

Some features include:

  • Landing pages
  • Sales letter creator
  • Secure check out cart
  • Lead generation pages
  • Complete webinar funnels
  • Complete membership funnels
  • One click upsells and downsells

And a bunch more.

Best Way To Make The Sale

Or even the best way to generate leads.

The reason why is because funnels tend to focus on only one thing at a time:

  • Get the email (generate a lead).
  • Make a sale (with no other distractions).
  • Sign up for a webinar (and then watch it through).

And so on and so forth.

Funnels tend to focus on doing one thing while minimizing distractions, and that’s something the website doesn’t do as well.

Sales Funnel Cons

The good news is that there aren’t many cons to using sales funnels.

SEO What?

While this isn’t true for all sales funnel builders, most of them are really bad options when it comes to generating organic traffic from the search engines.

If you don’t believe me?

Even ClickFunnels has their blog on WordPress (and not through a ClickFunnels funnel).

You can see their blog here for proof.

So if your main goal is to get traffic from the search engines, then you should hold on tightly to your website.

Let’s wrap up this post now.

Website Vs Funnel Finale

So allow me to answer the two most common questions when it comes to this topic.

First is that should you abandon your website?

Absolutely not.

There’s still too many benefits (even more than what I talked about in this post) and not utilizing a website could be a mistake especially if you’re looking for organic traffic.

And lastly?

Which should you use when it comes to the battle of a funnel vs website?

I actually recommend both.

Here is how I use them:

  • Website for organic traffic and providing what my audience needs.
  • Funnel for generating leads and sales (which also connects to my website).

I prefer getting the best of both worlds.

How about you though?

What do you think when it comes to the battle of the website vs the funnel?
