Editorial Policy
How Digital Tech Updates researches, writes, reviews and corrects content, and how we handle advertising and sponsored placements.
This page explains how Digital Tech Updates researches, writes, reviews and corrects its content, and how we handle commercial relationships. It exists so you can judge for yourself how much weight to give what you read here.
Editorial independence
Advertisers and sponsors have no influence over our editorial coverage. A company can pay for a clearly labelled sponsored placement. A company cannot pay for a favourable score in an independent review, cannot pay to have criticism removed, and cannot pay to have a competitor covered unfavourably.
Sourcing
- Factual claims are linked to primary sources — official documentation, company announcements, regulatory filings, or published research.
- Statistics are attributed with the source and the date collected.
- Where we rely on a single source we cannot independently verify, we say so in the article.
How reviews work
- We use a product before reviewing it. If we have only tested a free tier or a limited trial, the review says exactly that.
- Where a vendor provides free access or a review unit, we disclose it in the article.
- Reviews carry a clear verdict, including what the product is bad at. A review with no criticism is an advertisement, and we label those as such.
Affiliate links
Some articles contain affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships never determine ranking or verdicts, and any article containing them carries a disclosure. See our Disclaimer.
Sponsored and contributed content
- Sponsored articles are labelled “Sponsored” and their outbound links use
rel="sponsored". - Contributed guest articles carry the author’s name and bio, and represent the author’s views rather than ours.
- We fact-check contributed articles and will decline or amend claims we cannot verify.
Use of AI
We use AI tools for research assistance, outlining and proofreading. We do not publish machine-generated articles. Every published piece is written and reviewed by a named human who is accountable for its accuracy.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we fix it and say so. Material corrections are noted at the foot of the article with the date. To report an error, email admin@digitaltechupdates.com with the subject line “CORRECTION” and, where possible, a source.
Updates
Software changes constantly, so we revisit our guides and reviews periodically. Substantially updated articles show a “Last updated” date. Where a product has changed enough that our verdict no longer holds, we rewrite rather than patch.
Who writes here
Every article carries a named author with a biography. If you want to verify a writer’s background or reach them, use the contact details on their author page.
Complaints
If you believe an article is inaccurate, unfair or in breach of this policy, email admin@digitaltechupdates.com with the subject line “COMPLAINT”. We respond within two business days and publish a correction where one is warranted.
