Your privacy and anonymity is maintained since the remote website sees only the proxy server and it’s IP address. In this sense it acts as an anonymous proxy. What’s the point?
ProxFree is a great way to access censored/blocked websites and surf the internet anonymously.

You can use ProxFree from any computer or electronic device with an internet connection and a modern web browser.
What can I do with it?
Most people use ProxFree to access websites in their censored environment. This means visiting websites such as YouTube and Facebook while at school/work or in countries which restrict access to these websites such as Iran. The next most common use would be for masking your actual IP address for privacy or to appear in another location/country. This is useful for accessing content restricted from your country such as some YouTube videos.
How does it work?
You connect to and request a website from ProxFree. ProxFree visits the requested website and forwards the result on to you. It modifies the code that makes up the requested website before forwarding it to you so that all of the content on the page such as the links and images are also requested using ProxFree. However, modifying the code is difficult and doesn’t always work well for “JavaScript” heavy websites. ProxFree acts as a middleman between you and the third-party website, meaning that the third-party website sees only the request made by ProxFree, and not you.

SSL encryption?
To access ProxFree over SSL, you should click the SSL padlock next to the URL form so that it appears “locked”. Depending on your web browser, it show https:// in the address bar rather than http:// and/or display some sort of padlock icon somewhere. SSL encrypts the data transferred between your web browser and ProxFree, meaning that any third party monitoring your activity cannot determine the data you send to Proxfree.
URL encryption?
When visiting a website using ProxFree, the URL in your browser’s address bar looks like proxfree.com/page.php?get=SOMETHING. This address is visible in your internet history and is also visible to your internet service provider and/or network administrator. While using ProxFree, the SOMETHING part is encrypted (using a variant of AES for anyone that’s interested) rather than encoded like what most other web proxies use. It is only possibly for the ProxFree servers to decrypt the SOMETHING part of the URL. Encoded URLs can be easily reverse engineered by a person knowledgeable on the subject. The only way to decrypt ProxFree URLs is with the unique cipher key known only to ProxFree. Every ProxFree user has a different and unpredictable unique cipher.
What is IPv6 and why should I care?
IPv6 is the replacement for IPv4, the old and most used IP addressing system at the moment. Due to the boom in use of the internet over the past 15 years, the IPv4 address space is running out of addresses. ProxFree is accessible over the new IPv6 address system for those that have access to it as well as IPv4. ProxFree is also capable of browsing third party websites using IPv6 and will use IPv6 by default if available. Please note that not all of the “alternate” IP addresses are IPv6 capable yet.
Changeable IP addresses?
ProxFree features a simple dropdown box next to the address bar on all of the “proxied” pages and the front pages. This dropdown enables you to change the IP address used by ProxFree that the external website sees in an instant. It works by forwarding your request through another proxy (an extra middleman). However, this means it will make your browsing slightly slower.
Video compatibility?
We have worked hard to make ProxFree compatible with some of the largest video websites such as YouTube, Dailymotion, Medacafe, Vimeo and many adult sites. This is something we have to individually work out for every single video website which is why many other proxies aren’t compatible with them.
